The star has given the complete sum of his £25,000 Mercury Prize cash to the MVT, which operates to preserve the UK's small live music spots.
The star was presented with the award on October 16 as his new release the album was named the top album of the last 12 months.
The musician has decided to donate the funds to the MVT, in appreciation of the crucial part grassroots venues played in his beginning days.
"I couldn't be pursuing this success if it weren't for all the gigs I did around the North East, and beyond, when I was beginning," remarked Sam Fender. "These venues are legendary, but they are facing challenges."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – about 16% of the whole industry in the UK.
Recently, well-known musicians such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by adding a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which supports independent venues.
Sam Fender also joined in, collecting over £100k on his live tour to assist thirty-eight grassroots venues across Britain.
The donation assisted spaces that were dealing with potential shutdown due to issues arising from floods, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and neighbor objections.
Some locations received financial assistance in improving amenities and technical equipment that helped musicians and fans.
"The notion that funds from concerts in major spaces helps the local stages, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just logical," the star has said.
The musician is far from the only musician to give his honor winnings to charitable organizations.
In Pulp won the trophy in the year 1996 for their release the album, lead singer the singer stated that the act would donate their winnings to the organization the charity.
During 2002, musician Ms Dynamite shared her award among several organizations, such as the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I contributed a thousand pounds to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked updated gear," she told a publication.
In recent years, they contributed their winnings to the youth organization that supported their band, in addition to other independent music bodies.
Additionally winners that year they gave their prize to a MS organization after a acquaintance was found to have the condition.
"Receiving the award was sufficient," said artist the singer. "The cash was the extra but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our victory affected another person's life."
Last week, the trust revealed it had rescued two grassroots venues in that region, by transferring them to public stewardship.
One venue in the city and the second in the city were purchased under the public acquisition program, which is supported by a national body and music fans who buy "ownership units" in the properties.
