A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
